From the business
In the shop's own words: “About Star Tune”
We are a small, hands-on auto shop on Abbott Street in Salinas, run by Jose and Yoshi with help from Trish in the office. Customers come to us for diagnostics, oil changes, brakes, alignments, tune-ups, radiator work, alternators, batteries, wiper blades, and engine rebuilds, the everyday repairs that keep a car on the road.
We tell customers what a repair actually costs before we start, and we do the work ourselves instead of handing it off. When a Tesla driver broke down passing through town, Jose got them back on the road the same day. When a customer broke down 150 miles from home, Yoshi found a cheap, same-day fix instead of the expensive one.
Every car that comes through our door gets treated the way we would want ours treated: fixed right, explained clearly, and priced fairly.
- Owner-operated by Jose and Yoshi
- Upfront, honest pricing
- Same-day repairs when possible
- Comfortable working on EVs like Tesla
